TIP #1 • Equipment. Always be careful with equipment and clothing. You should feel comfortable and strong. Check always an extra time that you have everything you need for the match and training. Extra laces in the bag, shin guard, the right shoes for the pitch.

TIP #2 • Be prepared. Always show up in right time to match and training, show your team mates that you take the training and the match seriously. To be late, without any specific reason, shows the opposite, that you do not think it is so important with the team. But do not stress, stress makes you lose focus on the match.

TIP #3 • Field vision. Train your field vision. You learn to over viewing the situation on the field by playing football, but you can practice it and increase your own decision-making ability when you see good team on TV or DVD. Try to see how the best players move without the ball, how they try to find positions where they can be target for a pass, how they try to find free space and running paths to make it easier for their team mates to find passing lanes. Follow an attacking team in slow motion; watch how the whole team is involved. "Take decisions" for the players - who should they pass, what options do they have, should they shoot, dribble or pass?

TIP #4 • Balance. Keep track of how you run and move. With a well balanced standing and running you will be faster, shoot better and the opponent will find it hard to tackle you. And mind the steps, short step provides better acceleration and better balance.

TIP #5 • Your own decisions. Do not let leaders, team mates or any other person direct you in match situations. During a match you must take your own decisions, all types of orders or directives on what to do with the ball will come too late for you. You have to take your own decision even before the ball is coming. The best way to help a team mate to make the right decision is to show where you are and that you are ready to meet his pass.

TIP #6 • Positive thinking. Bring the good things from a match or training to the next match. Make a note of the good things you made, add the other things you are good at and bring it all with you when it’s time for match again.

TIP #7 • Split vision. Train your split vision, your ability to grasp what is happening around you. Learn how your team mates act, which running paths they usually choose. If you know where your team mates are or where they are heading before you get the ball, you can quickly pass the ball to the players with the best position to pushing the game forward and towards the goal.

TIP #8 • Great ego. All goal scorers are individualists in the situation in front of goal. It must be so. All other options, such as someone else taking the decision as towho's going to score or shoot, means a delay and often a missed chance of scoring.

TIP #9 • Show appreciation. Remember that most goals are not only the scorer’s merit. Always show appreciation for a good pass leading to your goal.

TIP #10 • Training on your own. All great footballers train for themselves. Free kicks, penalties, shots, corners and everything else that is difficult to effectively bring into the regular training. Your goalie may want to train to save free kicks while you love to practice shooting them.

TIP #11 • Warming up. Warm up as many muscles as possible before match and training. Try to have the ball in every moment, but never go for shooting before you are warm. And don’t forget your upper body, arms, shoulders.

TIP #12 • Shooting. Learn how to shoot with the whole body. Try to find the explosive power in your shooting that comes from a well timed power release from all your muscles, not only the foot. You can feel it in your body when you have found the right technique.

TIP #13 • Back to basics. If your game does not work, return to basic playing strategies with simple straight passes to the nearest player. Focus on your main task as given by the coach. This will make you feel secure and will let you into the game again.

TIP #14 • See the holes. See the possibilities, not the obstacles. No matter how far from the goal you are, the holes are always bigger than the goalkeeper. Focus on the openings and you will score.
