There are nudist paradises all over. Nearly every island has a secluded cove, a part of a beach or even the entire beach for sun lovers with or without clothes.
If you are unsure whether it is okay to be all nude, just check out the surroundings and you will see if you fit in on that particular beach.
Nudity seems to be more accepted on smaller islands, although almost all the islands have their nude beaches, official or unofficial.
Sometimes you have to walk a short distance away from the major tourist beach to find your paradise.And there is never any trouble to undressing if you find your own little hidden bay with smooth sand, sparkling crystal clear water and maybe a little shadowed cave to rest in when the sun burns and the heat rises in the after noon.
But: nudity is prohibited. Sometimes you can see signposts with "Nudism Strictly Forbidden". In reality, no one cares about the signs and authorities would like to see a blind eye to violations of these rules. Nude beach is good for tourism and visitors from other countries in Europe would quickly flee Greece stunning islands if a police force suddenly raids a beach because tourists have dumped their upper or lower part of their swimsuits.
On many islands there are official nude beaches. Here are our tips on nude beaches and islands in Greece.
TIP 1 • Astypalea.
Tzanaki on the island of Astypalea is a small secluded beach with
sea-cut white stones and the beautiful azure waters of the Mediterranean
that we all love. This is a real nudist beach that you find a
comfortable walk along the shore after the village of Livadi.
TIP 2 • Skiathos. Little Banana Beach is the official naturist beach in Skiathos. Few Greek islands can compete with the diversity that Skiathos offers. Banana Beach, three white and softly curved sandy beaches. Many people hold this beach among the very best nude beaches in the islands. Both roads and bus routes will take you to the beaches, with a short walk in the end.

TIP 3 • Amorgos. One of the Greek islands absolute pearl. Not as famous as a resort, but well known from the movie "The Big Blue" that in many parts were filmed here. Egiali is the largest village in the north of Amorgos. There is a long lovely beach where swimsuit is normal. A few minutes walk towards the cliffs you will find the most delicate small bays with sand and rocks where most of the visitors enjoy the sun and the sea totally naked. But put on your clothes when you go to cool off with a drink in one of the small taverns at the edge of the beach. There are also boats to the small beaches across the bay from Egialis port.
TIP 4 • Antiparos. Easily accessible beaches within walking distance from the main village, chora, characterize this small and friendly island southwest of Paros. Often shallow and no problem throwing your clothes off, especially at the Nudist Beach that can be easily reached from the city.
TIP 5 • Skopelos. A beautiful island where the nudist beach Velanio not deviate from the stunning beauty that characterizes the island, it’s beaches and lush vegetation. Pines can this go down to the crystal clear water and form small groves with sand, sun, sea and green trees. Here it is a special pleasure to swim naked.
TIP 6 • Crete. One of Greece's most popular tourist destinations, offering miles of sandy beaches where tourists from all over Europe enjoy the Mediterranean's turquoise waters, white sand and the rich atmosphere. Here it feels okay to throw off all clothes on many of the beaches, but keep an eye on the surroundings before you go nude. Special nude beaches are Sougia on the east side of the shingle beach, Sweet Water beach between Loutro and Chora Sfakion and Red beach east of Matala.
TIP 7 • Mykonos. Nudity rules at Mykonos, especially at Paradise Beach and Super Paradise Beach. Here you will find really everything you could wish for, and sometimes a bit more than that. But the beaches are beautiful, the coarse sand and wonderful nightlife, spiced with elements of the gay scene. Take bathing boat from Platis Yalos to Paradise beaches.
TIP 8 • Samos. The right side of Tsamadou on the north side is an "official" nude beach. Try the Tsamadou Beach north of Kokkari along the main road between Samos and Karlovassi. The nudist part of the beach, to be found to the right if you stand with the sea in front of you, is pleasantly rocky and an attraction for those who enjoy diving nude into the deep blue water, This is as full service beach with sun beds, taverns and kiosks.
TIP 9 • Sifnos. EFTA Matyres is the large nude beach on Sifnos, one of the most popular and attractive islands in the western Cyclades. Tourism is increasing but the island still has a very genuine character. Lots of wonderful rocks, but also shallow child-friendly beaches and secluded bays for those who want to be on their own.
TIP 10 • Syros. Behind a hill on the western part of Syros, you can find the little hidden paradise Armeos beach. A quiet and private little beach that also officially is dedicated to nudists. But you have to plan your visit; there is very little service on and off the beach. You can choose to rest on sand, pebbles or rock formations. Excellent snorkelling.
TIP 11 • Polyandrous. Adios Nikolaou is the name of a protected beautiful little bay on Polyandrous. Fine snorkelling but above all a lovely nudist Mecca, an official nude beach with sand and smooth pebbles, clear water and abundant sunshine, of course.
TIP 12 • Telendos. No asphalt, no cars, Telendos has its own quiet rhythm. A number of wonderful beaches and on top of that, the special nudist beach Paradise Beach, where nudists from all Europe is gathering.
